AfD nomination of Jake Brahm

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Jake Brahm. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jake Brahm (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:15, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hawaii overprint note

I do not understand your reverting the recent edit of Hawaii overprint note. If you follow the link to the article on Oahu Cemetery, you will see that it was also called "Nuʻuanu" at times. It is on the island of Oʻahu (and that is its official name), but in the Nuʻuanu Valley, so that is what locals call it. Why did you take out the link to the cemetery? And why did you take out the category Category: History of Oahu? Do you contend that it did not take place on that island? And why did you change the link to crematory, which describes the facility used, to crematorium which redirect to cremation describing the funeral process? The article does not refer to burning bodies, but paper money. Did you actually read the changes before reverting? The raw link you added (http://www.nmplimited.com/Index.htm) points to a placeholder page that says "under construction"? The Oahu Cemetery article has a source that appeared in a refereed academic journal. Please reconsider. Aloha. W Nowicki (talk) 22:27, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, you wanted to split the discussion: "The references don't make the distinction."

Yes, because they are the same place, just a "local" name used in the local newspaper by a local, and official name used in the book. Sorry if I am having trouble getting this across? For example, people called the stadium in San Francisco "Candlestick Park" even when its official name was "3Com Park". Locals might know the difference, and a newspaper reporter on a dealine might quote a local's nickname, but an encyclopedia might use the official name. That is why I used the name Oahu Cemetery for the article. Please answer why you removed the link from the overprint note article? Why not tell the truth?
Why do you think the in-line link to an "under construction" page is an encyclopedic quality source?

So if someone does a fact check and notices the discrepancy, how would they know they are one and the same??

If you would have kept the link to the Oahu Cemetery article in, then they could have clicked on that to find out the location of it in Nuʻuanu valley on Nuʻuanu Avenue for starters. Why obscure that fact and mislead readers into thinking there are two different ones? If you really insist a simple "Oahu Cemetery (known by locals as Nuʻuanu Mortuary)" would be less misleading. Someone who really does want to fact check could also then find the Journal article cited for example. Also just found a source in "The Numismatist". So if I corrected the article again, would you back it out and mediation be needed? W Nowicki (talk) 21:49, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I protest the remvoal of the two youtube links under copyright, it makes no sence, what rule is being broken by having those two links up, there good resorces.

(Also TLC hasn't shown that Special in years, it was a specal, and premeared in 2000, I can't recall it being on much after that(I know I never heard of it, til Youtube) and I watched TLC from about 2002-2004, and youtube was formed in 2005, trust me no one cares, I dumbfounded they made it in the first place. Old Laihaina Courthouse?

So you're sure this photo File:Old Laihaina Courthouse.jpg isn't the courthouse?

The Flickr photographer has two photos of this building, both labeled as the courthouse. I've never been there, and suppose you have?

I'll make a note at the photo (or you can), assuming you're certain it's the wrong building. TIA, Pete Tillman (talk) 05:36, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'll correct the photo caption. Cheers, Pete Tillman (talk) 15:30, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've only removed one thing (Vampire Knights) - so, assuming that is what you are discussing, the RUMOR that he was in something is far less citable, and was never cited in it's inclusion. So, (1) it's NOT true, (2) it's uncitable (especially since it's not true), and (3) has NEVER been added with ANY citation or reference, much less a valid one. Thus, it will continue to be reverted unless someone provides a valid reference.
Other than that, I've re-added one section that was removed by an anon (the Star Trek Phase 2 stuff), which I also did not write or create, and was cited.
Additionally, you should be aware that the section that was added (which you reverted), was NOT added by me. So, for any changes not related to someone re-adding "Vampire Knights" you may wish to direct your comments at the correct person - which is not me. Please feel free to check the edit history if you want. Thank you.

There is a response here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard#Vic_Mignogna_fandom_problems
Really, we're in full agreement about the fancruft being added to the article without valid references or reason (notability, etc) - and I think my edit history (everywhere on Wikipedia) proves as much. So... shall we keep arguing about you misunderstanding my intent (and possibly still misunderstanding it) and keep going back and forth over what was probably a simple error when you intentionally or accidentally implied I had anything to do with the uncited additions you reverted? As a related note, I would have (a) done the revert myself, (b) found references, and/or (c) added citation needed tags had I found the addition before you.

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

I nominated the article for DYK a few days ago, but there's a massive backlog so it could be a while until it's up there. License tagging for File:MastersoftheMaze.jpg

Top Gear

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

If you care to have a constructive conversation, I have added a fair amount of information to the discussion topic. roguegeek (talk·cont) 02:04, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

About To Be Blocked

I do apologise for my over-editing! And I sincerely apologise for getting into an 'edit war'. It was certainly not my intention to cause offence. I just like to see, when titles are used, that they are used correctly. And, in the case of the London 2012 opening ceremony, I think it is very unfair, and completely inaccurate, to refer to the ceremony's music as 'British' as much of that music came from Ireland (such as U2, Snow Patrol, etc.). If I have caused offence, I apologise. I do hope that 'the powers that be' (to use a British Protestant term!) do not block me! Laggan Boy (talk) 23:18, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

FDC Honolulu

I made some changes to the Federal Detention Center, Honolulu article and you reversed them. It's my fault because I didn't propose them beforehand, sorry about that. Can I reinstate those changes? I will not remove any information, just put it in a more "reader-friendly" format. MDEVER802 (talk) 23:38, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tape Delays

I prefer to keep all discussions in one place. The reason is doesn't warren inclusion on this page is for three reasons. The decisions were not under the control of the Olympics organisers. They were an operational matter for the Media Broadcaster. Secondly just because people complained about this issue doesn't make it a controversy. Many people complained regarding many things which are not included in the article and many people complain about many things every day they do not all of a sudden become controversies. The final thing is the nature of the centricness it is covering TV viewing and it only cover three "western" nations. i do not see a section here on the Countries which did not broadcast the opening ceremony at all, the piece has to be balanced and wide covering other wise is it cherry-picking. I am not saying that the complaints weren't justified or that the complainers were right or wrong or that the media broadcasters were right or wrong. It is though just complaints about the operational issues of some media outlets. If the coverage had lead or does lead to media rights being revoked or awarded to another outlet then that is a controversy as it would be the Olympic organisers saying to a media outlet "your coverage was so poor we are not going to let you have the rights to broadcast". That is not the case in this situation. --Sport and politics (talk) 08:36, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

3RR warning

It is not reverting when new material is being added and the interpretation that "any three edits" constitute a violation is pure rubbish. Please retract the unfounded and nonsensical warning on my talk page. That is like saying a page with a 1RR is unable to be edited by anyone as one edit would violate the 1 revet rule. Please employ some common sense when making judgements on these subjects. it is not "revert warring" if new material is being added. those interpretations get in the way of a well functioning encyclopaedia and are disruptive. Under that interpretation no new article would ever be written as two editors making changes or one editor making lots of changes would be "revert warring". Orphaned non-free media (File:BorderWarsTitleCard.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:BorderWarsTitleCard.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:27, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
