User talk:185.214.220.199January 2025Hello, I'm TheInfernoX. An edit that you recently made to Murder of Alijah Mullis seemed to be a test and has been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Plum Sykes, even if you intend to fix them later. Your edits have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Sophisticatedevening (talk) 19:42, 12 January 2025 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Donald Nielson shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Inappropriate messagesI see that you have been subjected to a barrage of totally unsuitable messages from editors who, to put it bluntly, don't know what they are talking about. As you very likely know, although any editor may get treated like that, it is far more commonly inflicted on editors who don't have an account, as a very large number of editors automatically assume the worst of anonymous editors. I started out as an anonymous "IP" editor, and I know full well that there are many perfectly good editors who don't choose to create accounts. (The only reason why I created an account was to avoid an IP block that was not my fault. If that hadn't happened I have no idea whether I would eventually have created an account or not.) Unfortunately there are even some administrators who view IP editors as an inferior breed, and are likely to block them for things they would have been unlikely to block a registered editor for. You may like to consider creating an account, to reduce the likelihood of being treated like dirt (and for various other benefits) but if you prefer not to, then of course that's fine. Either way, thanks for your contributions to the encyclopaedia, and I hope you will carry on. JBW (talk) 19:39, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
