Taťana Fischerová (better known as Táňa Fischerová) (6 June 1947 – 25 December 2019) [1] was a Czech actress, writer, television host, politician and civic activist. From 2002 to 2006, she was a member of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. She was a candidate in the 2013 Czech presidential election.[2]
In 1989, she signed the petition "Několik vět" (A Few Sentences) prepared by the informal civic initiative Charter 77.[6] At that time, she began participating in civic activities.[6]
In 2002, Fischerová was elected to a seat in the Parliament of the Czech Republic as an independent candidate running on the slate of the Unie svobody-DEU (Freedom Union – Democratic Union).[1] She served until 2006.[1][3] However, she did not succeed in the next election, this time to the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.[3][9]
Fischerová was one of the three female candidates in the 2013 Czech presidential election,[1][10] along with Zuzana Roithová and Jana Bobošíková. She was supported by the Green Party.[11] Her team gathered around 65,000 approved signatures from citizens and met the quorum of minimum of 50,000.[12] In the 1st round of the election, she placed 7th with 3.23% (166 211 votes).[1][13] She did not qualify for the second round.
