Compressing this template
Would anyone mind if I replace this template with a compressed version. See, for example, the difference between Template:Places_in_Bedfordshire and this version. The idea is that on a given athlete's page, the template would show the other members of the relay team with links to a page for a member of the previous and next couple of gold medal teams. For example, from Ray Armstead's page (or any other member of the 1984 gold medal team) the template might look like:
I don't think maintenance of such a template would not be particularly more difficult than maintenance of the existing template. Comments? -- Rick Block (talk) 03:04, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I thought this never actually happened, although it was discussed. Where is the citation that tells us that Nigeria are the 2000 olympic gold medalists? David D.(Talk)15:41, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
However, the Johnson page still has him as the winner of 4x400. I assume this is now incorrect. I think he was allowed to keep his medal, which made me think the US was not DQ'ed, but was Johnson allowed to keep the title too? It wpould seem if there is an official DQ then the Johnson article should not have him as the 2000 gold medalist. Does anyone know the argeement that the IOC made with Johnson?
