Whoever is putting this page up for deletion: I am finding sources for these articles. Give me about 15 more minutes and I will be done. Thank you. Also, please know that every time you put those tags on this page, they appear on every page that tallys that medals fgor the olympics and that is a lot. Thank you for your compassion. --Jared 17:12, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

{{Medal sources}} and {{unreferenced}} are for content, not templates. This template has no content to cite, all it has is a list of years when there were Olympic Games. This requires no citation in the article (it would disrupt the display of other articles) and probably requires no citation at all since it's already sourced in Olympic games. Individual articles can be atgged, but it is absolutely not appropriate to add an "uncited" template to a template which is itself used in many articles for the obvious reason that some or all of those articles may be properly referenced (even accepting the idea that they need to be, which I don't in this case) Just zis  Guy, you know? Almost all the articles that are referenced in this article need sourcing. If this doesn't apply to that article when the time comes for deletion the arbitrating administrator will decide which article require more sources, deletions and which ones are good. I think for the time being, it should be left as is. Also, the person who put it up most of though the same thing. Considering there is only about 2 articles that are properly cited I believe it is more reasonable to state those one. --CyclePat 20:12, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

here's a great source for all of these pages, even though i really don't think they need sources at all!:
source for all the pages: http://www.olympic.org/uk/games/past/table_uk.asp?OLGT=2&OLGY=<year>. For example: 1952 for the games in Oslo in 1952. ZorroIII 20:06, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Just add

==External link==
* [http://www.olympic.org/uk/games/past/table_uk.asp?OLGT=2&OLGY=1952 Medal table from the IOC]

to the bottom of all the pages. Might be an idea to use a template, as IOC might change the link later.

Winter first

Why are the Winter Olympics first when the Summer Olympics are obviously the bigger, older event? --MrCalifornia 04:03, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I do agree with you, but I think that the overall "balance" of the template looks better with it on the bottom because it has more dates. But I do totally agree with you. --Jared 17:09, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
