Gibbs

Leroy Gibbs or Leroy Jethro Gibbs? (to avoid confusion) Sigz 05:17, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

heart between jimmy and lee

I took the heart back out of the template... if someone wants to put it back in, please talk about it here. ----Steve 20:05, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A heart? You must be kidding me. This is not a "I love NCIS so much"-fan page but an encyclopedia. If there are love connections between characters that can be stated on the appropiate pages. The template is just to link the articles. --SoWhy Talk 21:21, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Didn't say it was mine, just noting that it happened. ----Steve 21:42, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chip?

Why is Chip listed as a former character? He wasn't a recurring character, and, ultimately, ended up being rather minor. He's little better than a footnote. Why put him and not the other two dozen equally unimportant characters in the template?? -- Mukk 22:52, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Macy

I'm not sure that Macy belongs in the list of NCIS:LA characters. She was in the "Legend" episodes, but has never appeared in the series proper. Vivian Blackadder had the same type of role in NCIS, and she doesn't appear on the character list for NCIS. SapphireSkies (talk) 03:18, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's a fairly convincing argument and I can't disagree. --AussieLegend (talk) 05:10, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. El Greco(talk) 17:08, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Abigail "Abby" Sciuto

I noticed that all the characters that go by nicknames have their full names with their nicknames in quotes. Why is Abby the only character that doesn't follow this? Shouldn't it be Abigail "Abby" Sciuto so the navigation box is more uniform? -- tigers go rawr. *rawr* 20:13, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notable episodes

The section about "notable episodes" is about to include a lot of episodes (about to add two more). Is this the right way to show all episodes with own articles? Maybe it should just include some of them, or be presented in another way? Any thoughts? Jonny2BeGood (talk) 17:43, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

From Jonny2BeGood's talk page:

Hello. I noticed that you've added links to newer NCIS episodes in the "Notable episodes" list in the show's template. I also noticed an IP reverting your edits, and while I don't agree with making disputable edits w/o providing a summary, I have to say I agree with what the IP was removing. It seems you're simply adding whatever the latest episode is, which I don't think is the point. An episode like Life Before His Eyes I get - it's the 200th episode. Is there any reason these other season 9 episodes are being highlighted in the template?  Mbinebri  talk ← 20:28, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I agree with you, and would be very interested in a sort of "guide" about which episodes to include. I wrote about it on the talk page for the template some weeks ago: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template_talk:NCIS_television#Notable_episodes Jonny2BeGood (talk) 14:29, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
Damn it... the one time I don't check the article/template/category's talk page! Honestly, I don't get the notability requirement for TV episodes mentioned in templates. With NCIS, for example, every episode has reviews from reliable sources, meaning each is technically a "notable" episode, which makes the template parameter for notable episodes seem more like it's for "extra notable" episodes—which is subjective. My assumption in this case is that the template should be kept to those obviously extra notable episodes while the routine ones can just be linked to from the articles on the specific seasons.  Mbinebri  talk ← 16:59, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
Hehe, its always the one time you forget its worth checking! I believe the list, like on The Big Bang Theory, includes all episodes with own articles, since often only a few has been created. It's an easy way to "promote" these articles, but when a lot episodes get their own article the list lose its value. Therefore, it may be time to change which NCIS episodes to include. Maybe continue on the talk page? Jonny2BeGood (talk) 22:01, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

Another other opinions?  Mbinebri  talk ← 16:18, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would be nice (by this point, given how it looks now) to fork the episodes off into a separate navbox. That should reduce the issue of clutter in the main navbox while also allowing for the listing of all episodes with articles. Ks0stm (TCGE) 19:53, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I've done a test (never created navboxes before!) and forked it into a new navbox. Any thoughts about it?

Jonny2BeGood (talk) 21:35, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That looks very familiar, :) but I don't see how having two templates, one of which partly duplicates the other, is better than having just one. While it may "reduce the issue of clutter in the main navbox", it's going to increase clutter in the articles. --AussieLegend () 05:17, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What does

the series Scorpion have to do with NCIS?Phd8511 (talk) 11:10, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There was a two part episode that started with an episode of Hawaii 5-O and ended with an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles so somebody decided to add Hawaii 5-O to the template. Hetty from NCIS: Los Angeles recently appeared in an episode of Scorpion. I assume that somebody thought that the tenuous inclusion of Hawaii 5-O in this template justified inclusion of Scorpion. I don't think that either should be included. --AussieLegend () 11:42, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There was a LA H50 cross over yes, but that doesn't mean the series are related.Phd8511 (talk) 13:35, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, if you use the definition of "related" that is used by {{Infobox television}} they are most definitely NOT related. It seems inconsistent to use a different definition here. You might like to have a look at NCIS (franchise)#Main cast next. --AussieLegend () 13:42, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
