Official Members

Let's bear in mind that official members of Modern Talking are Thomas Anders, Dieter Bohlen and Eric Singleton. Therefore, we are to keep only these names.--Harout72 (talk) 00:45, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am going to ask you to be competent about this. Rolf Köhler, Michael Scholz and Detlef Wiedeke among others are not official Modern Talking members, I have explained to you number of times that providing vocals on Modern Talking materials does not make them official members. competent?? what are you after? Rolf Köhler, Michael Scholz and Detlef Wiedeke are known to be the singers of Modern Talking, they are even credited on the second album. E-Kartoffel, Rolf Köhler, Michael Scholz and Detlef Wiedeke have never officially been considered as vocalist to Modern Talking, yes, they have been thanked on the second album, but there is no mention of any kind as to whether they have been thanked for producing vocals. We may see lot of musicians and record company personnel being thanked on the back of MT CDs, does that mean we have to include all those names in the related section?--Harout72 (talk) 17:46, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Eric Singleton is not an official member, only a 1998 reunion guest appearance (!?), MT was always a duo, see front cover of that album. The singers have much more justification to be mentioned in the template as contributors as they sang on all the main productions, from the start. They even continued working with Bohlen in Blue System. But as you are posting here you know that, as it is common knowledge to anyone who bothers to start reading about Modern Talking history. The internet is full of that information.

I'm quite familiar with Modern Talking's history. While I agree that Singleton was not a permanent member of MT, it's worth putting him up there as one of the members as he was present during 95% of MT concerts as well as promotional performances. As for Rolf Köhler, Michael Scholz and Detlef Wiedeke who have supposedly produced vocals on MT recording throughout the years, they have never been officially regarded as part of the band and have only been present during their recording sessions; therefore, we are not to mention their names as members. I have already explained to you once that cover bands of this kind that you keep mentioning do not play a significant role in order for us to link them in any way to the articles of Modern Talking. • Nora Balling is on the list for being the wife of Thomas Anders, but mostly because of her role in Modern Talking's break up of 1987. Blue System is listed because it was Bohlen's solo project. As Anders sang under his name and not under a "project name", he's not listed twice. Hope that clarifies the situation. :) --Diego Grez (talk) 01:00, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
