Template talk:Frederick County, Virginia in the American Civil War

I see this template being added to sereval appr. ACW pages, but it contains a red link it its title space. I assume this is just until the page for Frederick County, Virginia in the American Civil War is created, or a section covering Fred. Co. is added to Va.'s ACW page. But until then couldn't we link it in parts, such as Frederick County, Virginia in the American Civil War for now, or not link it at all. I'll do one or the other in a few days if there's no objection. Kresock (talk) 18:31, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a temporary link for the template title to Winchester in the American Civil War. I plan to eventually create a separate county page apart from Winchester, and appropriately split out some of the materials, as well as add additional info for purely the county. But for right now, this should do, as the county and city were virtually tied at the hip. In fact ... it appears the city and county govts are likley to re-merge in the near future, just by coincidence. Grayghost01 (talk) 00:21, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good for now! Any thoughts about a split-pic on it for both Stonewall and Ashby? I think Ashby has been quite neglected in history and this is a fitting tribute either way. Kresock (talk) 01:06, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I originally thought of putting Stonewall since he lived here, and he & his wife wanted to settle here after the war. But since Turner Ashby is a local boy and buried here, I figure it's time he gets some limelight.Grayghost01 (talk) 05:17, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a better image without the big subheading available to use as the main image for this template? I'm sure there's a period image of Ashby on the Commons somewhere. Hog Farm (talk) 03:13, 8 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
