Sorting

The works section needs some kind of sorting and/or divisions. The bibliography is divided up inot broad company categories but that doesn't work 100%. How about decades? Then alphabetically within the decade? (Emperor 23:22, 18 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I think that instead of "works" section, it could be split up for DC Comics, America's Best Comics, Independent etc, then list in alphabetical order. Unless you can point to a good example of works by decades. EXV // + @ 11:32, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The main problem with sorting it by companies is that he often started work in one company and finished in another. V for Vendeatta for example started in Warrior but finished in DC (and is listed under DC on the list of his works). That said the argument also works for sorting by years so you can't win ;) I think if we list them by the first company that published it we should be fine (although in theiry there is nothing wrong with putting them in twice. Looks much better. I haven't done it but I suspect srting the entries alphabetically would probbaly work better than a rough chronological worting as it is now (especially as some works were spread over quite some time). (Emperor 15:43, 22 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Querying inclusion

For such templates to work we can't just include series people worked on but ones they did signficnat work on. Moore only did two issues of Glory and in the total Spawn output he only created a minor part of them and nothing that had massive impact on it. Euqally he isn't even mentioned on the Voodoo and Violator entries. So I'd recommend removing those. The list of his works is there to be comprehensive this is here to link together his major works. I agree. (Although, McFarlane did pilfer ideas from Gaiman (angela and the angels, cogliostro, heaven), and Moore (malbolgia, the costume being alive, his version of heavens 8 levels) and used them for the next 100 issues of Spawn.) --EXV // + @ 16:06, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is also worth noting that concerns has been flagged over other similar templates, e.g. {{Steve Gerber}} [1] and, while this isn't anywhere near as problematic as that, it would be wise to keep the amount of material confined to creations or significant contributions (hence why Future Shocks seems fine). Along those lines... why is the film Constantine included? As best that can be gleaned from the film's article, the plot and story elements are drawn from the Hellblazer series in general, and the "Dangerous Habits" arc specifically. Moore, while creating John Constantine during his work on Saga of the Swamp Thing, had no connection to the spin off series, and the specific arc was written by Garth Ennis. The inclusion here seems fundamentally wrong. - J Greb 18:28, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Alan Moore portal was recently deleted. I've removed the red link from the template. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 09:19, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
