Tapasya (transl. Penance) is a 1976 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama directed by Anil Ganguly and produced by Tarachand Barjatya for Rajshree Productions. It was a remake of the Bengali film Baluchori (1968),[1] which was based on a story of the same name by Ashapurna Devi.

The film stars Raakhee in the lead role with Parikshat Sahni, Lalita Pawar, Nazir Hussain, A. K. Hangal, and Asrani. The film's music is provided by Ravindra Jain.[2] It won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment for the year.[3]
