Taleqan Dam (also Talaqan Dam) is a hydroelectric dam in Iran with an installed electricity generating capability of 18 MW.[1] It is one of the five main water sources for the Tehran metropolitan.[1] it is situated in Alborz Province.[2][3] downstream of Alborz province[4] and incorporates a pipe line to Hashtgerd.[5]
It was constructed between 2002 and 2006 on the Shahrud[6] and Taleghan Rivers creating the Taleghan reservoir.[7]
The dam can hold 420 million cubic meters of water.[1]
