ControversyThere was a misunderstanding between Kannadasan and M. Karunanidhi with allegations that Sugam Enge had plagiarised Karunanidhi's Ammaiyappan. It was eventually declared that Sugam Enge was not based on Ammaiyappan, but a popular folk tale.[3][4] References
