At the time of the 2006 National Census, Sin's population was 4,147 in 1,066 households, when it was a village in Borkhar-e Gharbi Rural District of the Central District of Borkhar and Meymeh County.[5][b] The following census in 2011 counted 5,198 people in 1,621 households,[7] by which time the village was separated from the county in the establishment of Borkhar County. Sin was transferred to Sin Rural District created in the new Central District.[4] The 2016 census measured the population as 5,495 people in 1,755 households,[2] when the village of Sin had been elevated to the status of a city.[8]
