Simon Bowes-Lyon
Sir Simon Alexander Bowes-Lyon KCVO (born 17 June 1932) is a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II and was Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire from 1986 to 2007. He was created a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in The Queen's Birthday Honours List 2005.[1] Early lifeHe was born in 1932, the son of Sir David Bowes-Lyon (1902–1961), who also served as Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, and Rachel Pauline Spender-Clay (1907–1996), younger daughter of Herbert Spender-Clay. Through his father, he is a member of the Bowes-Lyon family, and through his mother, the Astor family. Personal lifeOn 11 April 1966, he married Caroline Mary Victoria Pike (b. 1940), daughter of Rt. Rev. Victor Joseph Pike, and they have four children:
