Shailer Park State High School
Shailer Park State High School is a public co-educational secondary school located in the Logan City suburb of Shailer Park, Queensland, Australia.[1][2] It is administered by the Department of Education, with an enrolment of 1,115 students and a teaching staff of 95, as of 2023.[2] The school caters to students from Year 7 to Year 12.[1][2] HistoryIt was the first school to operate in Shailer Park,[3] being established on 29 January 1980.[4][5] In 1983, the school received a total of $711,541.94 in building and equipment grants; $625,850.48 for a "commerce block" and $85,691.46 for "manual arts – 2 drawing,"[6] while in 2009, Shailer Park was one of 32 schools to take part in a welfare scheme.[7] In June 2019, a 12-year-old student had been charged for allegedly stabbing a 13-year-old classmate in the back.[8][9][10] As of October 2023, the school was in the process of installing vape and smoke detectors in the school bathrooms.[11] Notable alumniDaniel Jones,[12] musician, songwriter, record producer and real estate agent.
