On 28 February 2022, FIFA and UEFA suspended the participation of Russia. The Russian Football Union unsuccessfully appealed the FIFA and UEFA bans to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which upheld the bans.[4] Since then, they have played several friendlies against non-Western countries.[5]
^The Russia v Poland match, originally scheduled to be played at Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow,[11] was later moved on 2 February 2022 to VTB Arena, Moscow, due to the epidemiological situation in Moscow and the possible limitations associated with it.[12]
