Profundiconus smirna
Profundiconus smirna, common name the Smirna cone, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Conidae, the cone snails and their allies.[1][2] Like all species within the genus Profundiconus, these cone snails are predatory and venomous. They are capable of "stinging" humans, therefore live ones should be handled carefully or not at all. DescriptionThe size of the shell varies between 39 mm and 98 mm.
DistributionThis marine species occurs off Southern Japan; off Hawaii, Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand. References
