Procatopodinae
Procatopodinae is a subfamily of the family Poeciliidae, the "livebearers", in the order Cyprinodontiformes.[2] Some authorities treat this subfamily as a family, the Procatopodidae, including the banded lampeye.[3] SubdivisionsThe subfamily Procatopodinae is divided into two tribes and 11 genera:[2]
The extinct procatopodine Paralebias Gaudant, 2013 is known from the Oligocene and Miocene of Europe.[4][5] References
