Plechotice (Hungarian: Pelejte) is a village and municipality in the Trebišov District in the Košice Region of south-eastern Slovakia. EtymologyThe name comes from the Slovak plechota—a land without vegetation.[4] 1332 Pellechte.[4] HistoryIn historical records the village was first mentioned in 1324. GeographyThe village lies at an altitude of 142 metres (466 ft) and covers an area of 12.936 km². EthnicityThe village is about 99% Slovak.
