Pite van Biljon (born 15 April 1986) is a South African cricketer who plays for Free State. He made his international debut for the South Africa cricket team in February 2020.[1] His sister, Suzaan, competed at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics in the breaststroke swimming events.[2]
Career
In August 2017, Van Biljon was named in Benoni Zalmi's squad for the first season of the T20 Global League.[3] However, in October 2017, Cricket South Africa initially postponed the tournament until November 2018, with it being cancelled soon after.[4]
In July 2018, Van Biljon was named as the captain of the Knights team, ahead of the 2018/2019 season.[5] In October 2018, he was named in Jozi Stars' squad for the first edition of the Mzansi Super League T20 tournament.[6][7] In September 2019, he was named in the squad for the Tshwane Spartans team for the 2019 Mzansi Super League tournament.[8]
In February 2020, Van Biljon was named in South Africa's Twenty20 International (T20I) squads for their series against England[9] and against Australia.[10] He made his T20I debut for South Africa, against Australia, on 21 February 2020.[11]
In November 2020, van Biljon was named in South Africa's squad for their limited overs series against England.[12][13] In April 2021, he was named in Free State's squad, ahead of the 2021–22 cricket season in South Africa.[14]
In February 2022, van Biljon was named as the captain of the Knights for the 2021–22 CSA T20 Challenge.[15]
