Phir Ussi Mod Par (English: "Back to Square One") is a Hindi film directed by Lekh Tandon.[1][2] The film tackles the practice of triple talaq, a tradition in Islam in which a husband pronounces three repudiations at once in order to legally divorce his wife, and highlights the negative consequences of the widespread practice. Phir Ussi Mod Par premiered at the Berlin Film Festival on March 8 2019,[3] and received a positive response. It was produced by Trinetra, Kanika, and Anshula Bajpai under their banner, Kanika Multiscope (KMPL). PlotIn the film, Naaz is pregnant when her husband, Shaheed, pronounces the triple talaq to divorce her. This leads Naaz to attempt suicide, but she is rescued by Rasheed, a man who is righteous, according to the Holy Quran. He marries her and offers her a fresh start. Later in life, when Naaz encounters another triple talaq situation, she decides to confront it directly rather than accept it passively. Cast
