Petr Kolář (born 27 September 1962) is a Czech politician. He served as ambassador to Russia from 2010 through 2012.[1] He has served as senior advisor to the law firm of Squire Patton Boggs in Prague since 2016.[2]

Kolář has held numerous positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He served as Czech Ambassador to Sweden from 1996 to 1998. Kolář became Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland in 1999 but left the office in 2003. From 1 September 2003 to 12 October 2005, he was Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister for Bilateral Relations. Kolář served as the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United States until 2010.[3][dead link]

Kolář was married to Jaroslava Kolářová and has two sons,[4] including Ondřej, served as mayor of the Prague 6 district from 2014 to 2022 before becoming a MEP in 2021.[5] In January 2020, Petr Kolář was widowed.[6] His partner was then-presenter Světlana Witowská, who divorced director of the Prague transport company Petr Witowský in early 2020.[7]
