North Stradbroke Island is a locality on part of the island of the same name in the City of Redland, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2021 census, North Stradbroke Island had a population of 181 people.[1] GeographyDespite the name, the entire island is not contained within this locality as there are three other small localities around the towns of Dunwich, Amity and Point Lookout.[3][4][5] However, most of island is within this locality.[6] Much of centre and south of the locality is within the Naree Budjong Djara National Park.[6] Despite its name, Dunwich Aerodrome is approx 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) south-west of the town of Dunwich in the locality of North Stradbroke Island (27°31′08″S 153°25′39″E / 27.5189°S 153.4276°E).[7] DemographicsIn the 2016 census, North Stradbroke Island had a population of 131 people.[8] In the 2021 census, North Stradbroke Island had a population of 181 people.[1] EducationThere are no schools within the locality.
