Thunnus (Neothunnus) is a subgenus of ray-finnedbony fishes in the Thunnini, or tuna, tribe. More specifically, Neothunnus is a subgenus of the genusThunnus, also known as the "true tunas". Neothunnus is sometimes referred to as the yellowfin group, and comprises three species:
