At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part of the Central District) was 19,921 in 3,916 households.[5] There were 22,946 inhabitants in 5,295 households at the following census of 2011.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 21,538 in 5,467 households. The most populous of its 61 villages was Chah-e Ali, with 1,735 people.[2]
In 2023, the rural district was separated from the district in the formation of Halil Dasht District.[7]
