Plot
Raghav Karnik (Kashyap Parulekar), a widowedcorporate lawyer, lives with his daughter, Reva (Saisha Bhoir / Aarohi Sambre), also known as Chingi, his elderly mother, Sulakshana (Varsha Dandale), his younger sister, Varsha (Kirti Pendharkar), and the ghost of his deceased wife, Rama (Anita Date-Kelkar). Elsewhere, Anandi Parab (Pallavi Patil) a simpleton village girl lives in Anjarle, Konkan region with her widowed father, Waman, also known as Aaba, and her older sister, Maai. With Rama no more, Raghav strives hard to take care of his family but is unable to manage it single-handedly. Sulakshana wishes him to marry another girl so that she can be free of work. She visits Anandi's house in her village along with Varsha to fix her marriage with Raghav without his knowledge, but keeps the truth of his previous marriage a secret. Anandi and Aaba readily accept the proposal, but Raghav learns about this and visits Konkan to reveal Anandi and her family the truth. Aaba is initially shocked but later agrees for the marriage due to Raghav's kind-heartedness. Rama feels dejected and unsuccessfully tries to break this alliance. Raghav and Anandi get married and Rama is freed from the photograph and reaches the marriage venue. Rama learns that she can be visible to no one except Anandi, who also wears the same mangalsutra that she did. Rama learns that the mangalsutra is the connection between her and Anandi.
Everyone moves back to Mumbai and Raghav and Anandi begin their marital life, but Chingi initially refuses to accept Anandi as her mother. Rama becomes envious of Anandi as she takes over all her responsibilities and her place in the Karnik residence. Rama introduces herself as Mrs. Kolate, Rama's close friend and their Karniks' neighbour, to Anandi and becomes friends with her. Rama repeatedly misguides Anandi about the Karnik family to create confusion in the family but in vain. Eventually, Chingi and Anandi bond together well, and Raghav and Anandi become comfortable with each other as well, making Rama more jealous. Anandi also attempts to bond with Rama's parents, Purushottam (Pankaj Chemburkar) and Malati Patkar (Mrunal Chemburkar), who reside in the same building but they everytime demean her. Soon, real Mrs. Kolate returns in the society and Anandi learns about Rama's fake identity. On the occasion of Pitru-Paksha Amavasya, Rama reveals her real identity to Anandi to which she gets immensely terrified.
