Naghan (Persian: ناغان)[a] is a city in, and the capital of, Naghan District of Kiar County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran.[4] It also serves as the administrative center for Naghan Rural District.[5]

The city is populated by Lurs.[6]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 4,928 in 1,210 households, when it was in the Central District of Ardal County.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 4,861 people in 1,345 households,[8] by which time the city and the rural district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Kiar County and transferred to the new Naghan District.[4] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 6,125 people in 1,842 households.[2]
