It is about 70 million light years away from the Solar System, and it has a diameter of about 55,000 light years.[4] It was discovered on 20 November 1886, by Lewis A. Swift.[5] One supernova has been observed in NGC 150. SN 1990K (type II, mag. 14) was discovered by Robert Evans on 25 May 1990.[6][7] It was reported to be similar to SN 1987A.[8] References
