Mylavaram
Mylavaram is a town and suburb of Vijayawada in NTR district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Mylavaram mandal of Vijayawada revenue division.[3] Mylavaram town has higher literacy rate compared to Andhra Pradesh. In 2011, literacy rate of Mylavaram village was 69% compared to 67.02% of Andhra Pradesh.[4] Mylavaram Mandal serves as one of the neighboring mandals to Telangana State, sharing its borders. The town is traversed by the National Highway NH-30, formerly known as NH-221. Within Mylavaram town, notable residential areas include Tarakarama Nagar (Devuni Cheruvu), Bandhagar, Ramakrishna Colony, Balayogi Nagar, Santhi Nagar, NSP Colony, Chandra Babu Nagar, Old town, and Pura Gutta Colony. GeographyMylavaram is located at 16°47′00″N 80°38′00″E / 16.7833°N 80.6333°E. It has an average elevation of 47 metres (157 feet). DemographicsAccording to 2021 census Mylavaram has a total population of 21,763 individuals, comprises 10,796 males and 10,967 females. The male-to-female ratio stands at approximately 987 males per 1000 females. Among the population, there are 2,139 children, with 1,105 boys and 1,034 girls. The Scheduled Castes community accounts for 3,083 individuals, with 1,465 males and 1,618 females, while the Scheduled Tribes population is 889, consisting of 422 males and 467 females. In terms of literacy, Mylavaram demonstrates commendable progress. Out of the total population, 15,011 individuals are considered literate, with 7,964 males and 7,047 females attaining literacy. The literacy rate in Mylavaram is approximately 69%. On the other hand, there are 6,752 individuals who are currently categorized as illiterate, consisting of 2,832 males and 3,920 females. Regarding the workforce, Mylavaram has 8,729 individuals engaged in various occupations, with 5,978 males and 2,751 females actively participating in the workforce. Meanwhile, there are 13,034 non-workers in the town, comprising 4,818 males and 8,216 females who are not currently part of the labor force.[5] EconomyAgriculture produce includes Banginapalli, Totapuri and other varieties of mangoes in the abundant Mango orchards of Mylavaram.[6] These are exported to cities namely Dubai, Hongkong, London and Singapore.[7] Assembly constituencyMylavaram falls in Mylavaram (Assembly constituency) is an assembly constituency of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.[8] Vasantha Venkata is the present MLA of YSRCP.[citation needed] EducationMylavaram has Lakireddy Bali Reddy College of Engineering (LBRCE).
