MediaWiki talk:Spam-blacklist/archives/July 2020kollywoodnewsboxoffice.water.blog
Noticed a few SPAs and IPs tossing this site into Indian film articles. ".blog" might be another one of those TLDs to eventually consider nuking across the project, like we did to .xyz, although right now I only see about three instances of it across the project, and they all seem related to this recent flare-up. These are both junk site that scrape bio information from anywhere they can, including Wikipedia, and put it out there as clickbait for editor. There's no control, it's just junk. Both of these get used on occasion by well-meaning editors but both have been spammed in the past few months by less scrupulous actors. I periodically run a search for these sites, so there aren't any active links in main article space, but will need to clean up draft space. Ravensfire (talk) 13:10, 7 July 2020 (UTC) listal.com

I see that the website's link does not appear on the Blythe Wikipedia page due to blacklist. Even though it is not an official site, I can confirm that it's a fan website. Their site provides a lot of free information in their education section, and fans do post a lot of photos which I believe other new fans, who are interested in this art, should be able to see the website on Wikipedia, too. I do not see any popups or advertisements when I browse their education section, therefore it passes as a valid website that provides value and information without any expectations or purchase requirement. The link can be useful on Wikipedia as the website does not look like spam and the Wikipedia link abuse has not been in the talk for three years. I am an art hobbyist who is not affiliated or connected with the above-mentioned website as well I am not a customer or employee. I have recently seen quite useful information and posts on their site about the craft I am interested in. The website and company name are also published on Forbes, BBC, CNN and the Guardian websites regarding the function and history about the company. The website also owns a photo book that was sold in bookstores and can be verified on various government websites. The link provides a lot of content and description that would help beginners and enthusiasts to kick-start or advance their craft faster, therefore a blacklist is no longer required.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.246.50.13 (talk • contribs)

It's the same dubious news provider as 112 dot ua, which is already in the list. It was discussed at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 281#Other Russian fake news / disinformation sites. All the other sites from that discussions were added by JzG, but not the .international one. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 11:17, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

Link summary and WikiBlame tool reveals persistent spamming of this site powered by WordPress by multiple IPs and non-confirmed users; latest IP to do this is 27.60.97.146. Can't really see any usefulness adding the link here into an encyclopedia, and there are some deceptive additions of this site like [1], so I cleaned them all before reporting here. theinstantmatrix (talk) 16:17, 21 July 2020 (UTC) newslagooon.comnewslagoon.com: Linksearch en (insource) - meta - de - fr - simple - wikt:en - wikt:fr • Spamcheck • MER-C X-wiki • gs • Reports: Links on en - COIBot - COIBot-Local • Discussions: tracked - advanced - RSN • COIBot-Link, Local, & XWiki Reports - Wikipedia: en - fr - de • Google: search • meta • Domain: domaintools • AboutUs.com Yet another in the long list of utter nonsense "news" sites, completely unreliable and spammy. see here for an example Praxidicae (talk) 13:49, 22 July 2020 (UTC) digicodes.in
I've issued 7-8 blocks on IPs over the last few days for this one, all on widely different ranges. See the history of Digital distribution of video games and Video game console in particular. I've protected the former, but I worry protection will just move the spammer to other articles I might not be watching. IP linked above was the first, to my knowledge, and hit the widest range of articles and categories. -- ferret (talk) 00:44, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Multiple spammed "news" sites
Repeatedly added as refspam by socking COI editors. I recognize the COIBot report says that a number of legitimate editors have added these, but I've looked at the websites...as far as I can tell these are spam farms (I can hardly see the content given how many ads are spattered on-screen) and suspect that they're just copying content from elsewhere on the web and using it to drive traffic to get ad money. They appear to be no better than glorified blogs and as such have no redeeming value. Will blacklist. GeneralNotability (talk) 00:16, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
