Marcus Onobun
Marcus Iziegbeaya Onobun is a Nigerian politician and member of the 10th National Assembly representing Esan Central/Esan West/Igueben Federal Constituency, Edo State.[1][2][3][4][5] Early life and educationOnobun was born at Benin City, Edo State where he added his primary and junior education. He attended the for his post-secondary school education enrolled in Ambrose Alli University at Ekpoma, in Edo State southern Nigeria where he received a BSc in Geography and Regional Planning from the same university.[6][7] Political careerAfter the impeachment of speaker Francis Okiye in 2020, [8] and after serving as Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Onobun was nominated as Speaker of the seventh Edo State House of Assembly by Blessing Agbebaku of the PDP representing Owan Constituency and the motion was seconded by Natasha Osawaru, representing Egor. Onobun was elected Speaker by all 24 members of the house unchallenged.[9][10][11][12][13] Onobun was elected the representative of Esan Central/Esan West/Igueben Federal Constituency, Edo State at the House of Representatives in 2023 under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party.[14][15] References
