The soap opera featured two romantic couples.[4] The series explored filial relationships between the elite and the poor, and people of different social economic classes.
The recurring subplots included a father’s masochistic tendencies stemming from resentment toward his deceased mother, an unfaithful wife’s redemption through motherhood, a business tycoon’s obsession with power and raising the 'perfect son', a son’s submission to his domineering mother, a young woman’s efforts to overcome past trauma, a brother’s guilt over a crime, and a man’s vengeful transformation following the death of his foster father.[citation needed]
Following the first season, a second season, referred to as Book 2, continued the narrative to address unresolved mysteries and questions from the first season.

^2 While most of the characters were named after known politicians, the soap was also directly affected by the 2007 National and Local Elections. Christopher de Leon's character (Fidel Madrigal) was sent to the United States because the actor was running for vice-governor of the province of Batangas. The Commission on Elections Omnibus Code states a maximum for airtime minutes of candidates to ensure fair exposure of electoral bets.
The series follows the intertwined lives of two couples: Eli and Jackie, and JB and Celine. After an accident leaves Jackie with amnesia, she believes Eli is her husband and falls in love with him. Eli struggles with the deception. Meanwhile, Celine and JB develop a romance, complicated by JB's past relationship with Jackie and Celine's lingering feelings for him. Jackie eventually regains her memory, leading to further complications and shifting relationships. The story explores themes of love, betrayal, family secrets, and social class differences.
The series theme song is also entitled Maging Sino Ka Man, composed by Rey Valera. The song was previously recorded by both Sharon Cuneta and Rey Valera, while the TV series theme was performed by Erik Santos. The same song was later used in Juan dela Cruz (2013), another ABS-CBN drama series; for that series, Martin Nievera performed the theme song.
The series received several awards, including Best Drama Series and Best Actor and Actress at the 2007 USTv Students' Choice Awards on Television.[9] It also won Best Primetime Drama Series at the 2007 PMPC Star Awards.[10] Additionally, it was recognized as one of The Country's 10 Most Well-Liked TV Programs in the 2007 Anak TV Seal Awards.[11]
