The ship ran aground on the Haisborough Sands. She was refloated but consequently capsized off the Dudgeon Lightship ( Trinity House ). Britannia was later taken in to Hull , Yorkshire . She was on a voyage from Saint Petersburg , Russia , to London .[ 9]

The ship was wrecked on the Black Middens, in the North Sea off South Shields , County Durham . Her crew were rescued. She was on a voyage from Sunderland to London.[ 11]
