Fire Force is an anime television series based on Atsushi Ohkubo's manga series of the same name. An anime series adaptation produced by David Production was announced in November 2018.[1] The series is directed by Yuki Yase, with Yamato Haijima handling the series' scripts, Hideyuki Morioka designing the characters and Kenichiro Suehiro composing the music.[2] The first season aired from July 6 to December 28, 2019 on Japan News Network stations MBS and TBS as part of the Super Animeism programming block and ran for 24 episodes.[3][4][5][6]Crunchyroll has licensed the series.[7] Due to the Kyoto Animation arson attack on July 19, 2019, the third episode, which was originally scheduled to air on July 20, 2019, was postponed and aired a week later on July 27, 2019.[8][9] In July 2019, it was announced that the series would premiere on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block on July 28, 2019.[10]
A second season aired in Japan from July 4 to December 12, 2020.[5] A third season was announced in May 2022.[11]
In July 2024 at Anime Expo, it was announced that the third season would also be its last and premiere in two split cours, with the first cours scheduled for April 2025 and the second cours set for January 2026.[12][13]
