Lawrence Udeigwe also known as Udeigwe, stylized as UDEiGWE formerly known as Lorens Chuno is a Nigerian-American musician,[1][2]mathematician,[3] professor,[4] and entrepreneur.
Udeigwe was born into a family of seven, with three boys and four girls, and was raised in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.[7] He attended St. Theresa's Primary School in Wurukum Makurdi and Mt. St. Gabriel's Secondary School.[8] He moved to the U.S. in 2000 to pursue his university education at Duquesne University,[9] where he obtained a B.S. in Mathematics and B.A. in Computer science.
Academic career
In June 2006, Udeigwe obtained his M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Delaware and an M.A. in mathematics in April 2008.[10]
He completed a thesis under Professor Robert P Gilbert at the University of Delaware as part of the requirements for his M.S. degree, which was titled "Identification of Objects in Acoustic Waveguide: Numerical Results and an Introduction to an Alternate Approach via the Method of Images"[11]
In July 2014, Udeigwe completed his PhD in Mathematical Information Science, writing his dissertation titled "Dynamical Systems of the BCM Learning Rule: Emergent Properties and Application to Clustering," under Professors Bard Ermentrout and Paul Munro.[12]
Music career
Udeigwe's stage name was formerly Lorens Chuno.[13] He released his debut and sophomore EP in 2012 titled Egwu Oma” and “Reflection respectively[14]
In 2018 Udeigwe topped audiomack trends across all genres.[15]
In 2023 he was listed among Apple Music's Nigerian artistes on the rise.[16]
