Yap competed in track cycling for Malaysia at the 2010 Asian Games in the women's points race (10th place in final event)[4] and the women's individual pursuit (12th place in qualifying event).[5]

She earned gold medals in the triathlon events at the 2005 Southeast Asian Games[6] and the 2007 Southeast Asian Games.[7] Yap finished 22nd in the triathlon event at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.[8]

After transitioning from her career as a professional athlete, Kimbeley Yap channeled her passion for fitness into helping others achieve their health and wellness goals. As a personal trainer and fitness instructor, she focuses on empowering individuals to build strength and confidence through accessible and inclusive fitness programs.

In 2023 and 2024, her dedication to the industry was recognized when she was awarded first runner-up for both years for the prestigious "Personal Trainer of the Year" award at the Asia Fitness Convention held in Bangkok. These accolades underscore her impact on the fitness community and her commitment to inspiring others.

In recent years, Kimbeley Yap has expanded her role in the fitness industry by co-owning DailyMuscle LightHouse, a boutique fitness studio in Kuala Lumpur.

The gym was founded by her husband, Noel Chelliah, and is renowned for its beginner-friendly approach, emphasizing inclusivity and small-group personal training.

DailyMuscle aims to create a welcoming space for individuals of all fitness levels, particularly those new to exercise or intimidated by traditional gyms. The gym's philosophy and origin story, along with its impact on the local fitness community, were highlighted in a feature by Vulcan Post.
