Kavya Kalanithi Maran (born 3 November 1991)[ 1] is an Indian businesswoman, co-owner and head of[ 2] Sunrisers Hyderabad in Indian Premier League (IPL)[ 3] and Sunrisers Eastern Cape in SA20 League , and Executive Director of Sun TV Network Limited. She is the daughter of Kalanithi Maran , the chairman and founder of the Sun Group .[ 4] [ 5]
Career
Kavya joined the Sun Group, the conglomerate founded by her grandfather,[ 6] which is one of the largest media networks in Asia .[ 7] She began her professional journey by overseeing operations of Sun TV Network and Sun Music,[ 7] among other FM channels under the Sun Group umbrella.
Awards
In January, 2024, Kavya was awarded the 'Face and Force Behind Sunrisers Hyderabad[ 8] ' at the Devi Awards,[ 9] in recognition of her significant contributions to the franchise.
Net worth
Kavya's net worth is estimated to be around $50 million[ 10] (approximately Rs. 409 crore), making her one of the wealthiest young businesswomen in India.[ 11]
