Buelow attended high school at Kapolei. Coming out of high school, Buelow was rated as a four-star recruit where he held offers from schools such as Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Fresno State, Hawaii, Kansas State, New Mexico, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, TCU, UCLA, Utah, Utah State, Virginia, Washington, and Washington State.[1] Buelow decided to commit to play college football for the Washington Huskies.[2][3]
College career

In Buelow's first season with Washington in 2019, he decided to redshirt and did not appear in any games.[4] the 2020 season, Buelow played in just one game for the Huskies.[5] During the 2021 season, Buelow started the first five games of the year before being benched for the remainder of the year.[6] In the 2022 season, Buelow played at left tackle in ten games with no starts, he mostly played on special teams.[7] Buelow returned as a starter in week two of the 2023 season, versus Michigan State, but he suffered an injury that caused him to miss the next four games.[8][9] Buelow started in both of the Huskies playoff games, including in the National Championship.[10] In the 2023 season, Buelow played in twelve games making nine starts for the Huskies.[11] After the conclusion of the 2023 season, Buelow decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal.[12][13]
In Buelow's career with the Huskies, he played in 31 games with 14 starts.[14]
