Géraldine Frey
Géraldine Frey (born 19 June 1997) is a Swiss track and field athlete. In 2022, she became the Swiss national champion over 200 metres. Early lifeFrom Oberägeri in the Swiss canton of Zug, she moved to Zürich to study pharmacy at ETH Zurich and joined and Rita Schönenberger's training group at LC Zürich. Frey was part of the Swiss team that won bronze at the 2017 European Athletics U23 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland in the 4x100m relay, and also competed in 2015 and 2019.[1] CareerIn January 2022, Frey ran 7.60 seconds for the 60 metres in St Gallen to qualify for the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade.[2] She ran a personal best time of 7.11 seconds for the 60 metres to qualify for the semi-final.[3] Frey won the 2022 Swiss National Championships over 200 metres, at the Letzigrund in Zürich. In doing so, Frey ran a new personal best time of 23.12 seconds.[4] Frey was part of the Swiss relay team that finished seventh at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in the 4 × 100 m relay final.[5] She was selected for the 100 metres at the 2022 European Athletics Championships in Munich.[6] She ran 11.45 seconds in her heat to qualify for the semi-finals.[7] Selected for the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, she qualified for the semi-final of the 100 metres.[8] She reached the semi-finals of the women's 60 metres at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow.[9] She ran as part of the Swiss 4x100m relay team which qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics at the 2024 World Relays Championships in Nassau, Bahamas.[10] She was selected for the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome in June 2024.[11] She competed in the 100 metres at the 2024 Paris Olympics.[12] AchievementsInformation from her World Athletics profile unless otherwise noted.
