The Frioul archipelago is a group of four islands located off the Mediterranean coast of France, approximately 4 kilometres (2 miles) from Marseille. The islands of the archipelago cover a total land area of approximately 200 hectares. According to the 2015 census, the population was 146.

The largest of the islands. The island consists of a port on the southeast side, named Port de Pomègues.[1]Pytheas of Massalia noted the existence of a polar ice cap from this island.[2]
