"Everybody" is a song recorded by American singer Britney Spears for her fifth studio album, Blackout (2007). It samples the Eurythmics' song "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)", written by Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart. It was produced by J.R. Rotem, who also confirmed Spears wrote her rap verse in the song but was never credited. The song is a deluxe track, released exclusively on the Japanese edition CD[1] and all digital deluxe editions.[2][3]
Background
The Cheetah Girls recorded a demo for "Everybody" when it was unclear if it would be used by Spears. It was originally intended for Rihanna's second album A Girl Like Me, but when the producer began working with Spears, he decided to give the song to her.[4] Rihanna later recorded several songs intended for Spears.[5]
Composition
"Everybody" is three minutes and sixteen seconds long. The song features an electronic dance beat and uplifting lyrics about embracing individuality and being yourself. The song also describes sexual obsessions.[6]
