Erika Lee Doss is an American educator and author.[1] She currently holds the EODIAH Distinguished Chair in Art History Professorship in The Edith O'Donnell Institute of Art History at the University of Texas at Dallas.[2] Formerly, she was a professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder and the University of Notre Dame.[3]
In her 1999 book, Elvis Culture: Fans, Faith, and Image, Doss examines the enduring popularity of singer Elvis Presley, and his rule-breaking dynamics.[5][6][7]Spiritual Moderns: Twentieth-Century American Artists and Religion (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2023) was listed as one of top 20 Art Books of 2023 by Hyperallergic.[8]
