Donn Steward
Donn Horatio Steward (1921 - 1985)[1] was a master printmaker. He learned the craft at the Tamarind Institute.[2] He was hired by Universal Limited Art Editions in 1966. There he worked with a variety of artists including Lee Bontecou, Helen Frankenthaler, Jasper Johns, Robert Motherwell and Cy Twombly.[3] In the mid-1970s Steward established the Huntington Township Art League printmaking workshop.[4] His prints are in the Amon Carter Museum of American Art,[5] the Baltimore Museum of Art,[6] the Brooklyn Museum,[7] the National Gallery of Art,[1] the Seattle Art Museum,[8] the Smithsonian American Art Museum,[9] and the Whitney Museum of American Art.[10] References
