Daniel Fernandes (comedian)
Daniel Fernandes (born 2 August 1984) is an Indian stand-up comedian. He is known for his dark and surreal style of comedy, which references social issues in India.[2] Early lifeFernandes was born in Mumbai and was raised in Goa.[3] He received his MBA in marketing from Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, Pune.[4] CareerBased in Mumbai, Fernandes regularly performs at comedy clubs including Canvas Laugh Club,[2][5] The Comedy Store,[6] Blue Frog[7][8] and High Spirits.[9] In his comedic material and interviews, Fernandes is known to cover Indian social issues including free speech,[1] student suicide,[4] death penalty and marital rape.[10][2] He collaborated with several Indian stand-up comedians including Gursimran Khamba,[7] Aditi Mittal,[11] Biswa Kalyan Rath,[12] Sundeep Rao, Radhika Vaz,[13] Abish Mathew and Kanan Gill.[5][14] In October 2015, Fernandes accompanied Nawazuddin Siddiqui for promotions of the 2015 biographical film, Manjhi: The Mountain Man.[15] In March 2015, he hosted Forbes India's entrepreneurial awards event, 30Under30.[16] References
