Cycloctenus westlandicus
Cycloctenus westlandicus is a species of Cycloctenidae spider endemic to New Zealand.[1] TaxonomyThis species was described in 1964 by Ray Forster from male and female specimens.[2] It was most recently revised in 1979. The holotype is stored in Otago Museum.[1] DescriptionThe male is recorded at 11.8mm in length whereas the female is 13.5mm. This species has various brown and black markings of varying darkness throughout the body.[1] DistributionThis species is only known from Westland and Fiordland in New Zealand.[1] Conservation statusUnder the New Zealand Threat Classification System, this species is listed as "Not Threatened".[3] References
