The Municipality of Centre Hastings is a township in Eastern Ontario , Canada, in Hastings County . It was formed on January 1, 1998, through the amalgamation of Huntingdon Township with the Village of Madoc .

In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada , Centre Hastings had a population of 4,801 living in 1,939 of its 2,180 total private dwellings, a change of 0.6% from its 2016 population of 4,774 . With a land area of 222.79 km2 (86.02 sq mi), it had a population density of 21.5/km2 (55.8/sq mi) in 2021.[ 2]
