District in North Khorasan, Iran
The Central District of Shirvan County (Persian : بخش مرکزی شهرستان شیروان ) is in North Khorasan province, Iran . Its capital is the city of Shirvan .[ 3]
History
After the 2011 National Census, the village of Ziarat [ 4] was elevated to the status of a city. After the 2016 census, the village of Khan Laq was also elevated to city status.[ 5]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 126,928 in 31,926 households.[ 6] The following census in 2011 counted 134,455 people in 37,178 households.[ 7] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 123,745 inhabitants in 37,420 households.[ 2]
