The Central District of Parsabad County (Persian : بخش مرکزی شهرستان پارسآباد ) is in Ardabil province, Iran . Its capital is the city of Parsabad .[ 3]
History
After the 2011 census, villages were separated from Qeshlaq-e Shomali Rural District [ a] in the formation of Eslamabad District , which was divided into two rural districts, including the new Shahrak Rural District .[ 4] After the 2016 census, the village of Owltan was elevated to the status of a city.[ 5]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 122,923 in 26,307 households.[ 6] The following census in 2011 counted 131,395 people in 33,857 households.[ 7] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 118,144 inhabitants living in 33,527 households.[ 2]
