Cantuaria kakanuiensis is a species of trapdoor spider endemic to New Zealand.[1] TaxonomyThis species was described in 1968 by Ray Forster from male specimens collected in Otago.[1] DescriptionThe male is recorded at 9.3mm in length. The carapace and legs are orange brown. The abdomen is pale yellow with a dark band dorsally.[1] DistributionThis species is only known from Otago, New Zealand.[1] Conservation statusUnder the New Zealand Threat Classification System, this species is listed as Data Deficient with the qualifiers of "Data Poor: Size", "Data Poor: Trend" and "One Location".[2] References
