Asaka Station (浅香駅, Asaka-eki) is a passenger railway station in located in Sakai-ku, Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, Japan, operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West). HistoryAsaka Station opened on September 3, 1937, as the Hanwa-Asakayama Stop (阪和浅香山停留場, Hanwa-Asaka Teiryujo). It was renamed Yamate-Asakayama Stop (山手浅香山停留場, Yamate-Asaka Teiryujo) on August 1, 1941, and to its present name on May 1, 1944. With the privatization of the Japan National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987, the station came under the aegis of the West Japan Railway Company.
